Kobe Bryant Tweets Respect to Yankees’ Closer Mariano Rivera

The 43-year-old is pitching his farewell season just how he wanted to and he seems to get better with age, something another five-time champion, Kobe Bryant, made Lakers fans well aware of last season. In fact, Kobe alluded to the #Vino characteristic in his recent tweet about Riveras final appearance in an All-Star Game. Kobe Bryant (@kobebryant) July 17, 2013 Riveras cut fastball was on debut on Tuesday night as he had a three up, three down inning. With Enter Sandman echoing throughout the stands in Citi Field, his entrance (video below) from the bullpen in the 8th inning was something that baseball fans will remember forever. After the American League sealed the deal on a 3-0 win, securing home-field advantage in the World Series, Mariano was named the All-Star Game MVP, a first by a reliever. The All-Star Game was Marianos night, and the admiration that his fellow players and the fans in attendance and at home was the right way to send Mariano off on his last ASG appearance.

Will Kobe Bryant look out for Lakers?

There have been unconfirmed reports that have been swirling around even before Heat’s victory over the San Antonio Spurs in the last NBA season, but James dismissed the news as just thatplain unconfirmed rumors. But the news won’t die down as Bryant appears to be serious in courting the Heat superstar and New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony. Bryant’s effort to get these two NBA superstars to play for his team in the next season looks far-fetched. In the case of James, the Heat will make every effort to keep him with the team for a third successive attempt at the NBA title in the upcoming season. For sure, James will forever cherish the idea of having to play a major role in what appears to be the beginning of the Heat’s unstoppable winning streak. The Heat had an almost unmatched record for having registered a 27-game winning streak in the the last NBA season. A win streak for the most prestigious NBA title is every player’s dream and it could happen as the Heat aims to clinch another title in the next season. For his part, James has not even entertained the idea of joining Bryant at Lakers and has not even talk about his 2014 plan as he tries to downplay such rumors.

Op-Ed: Why LeBron James won’t join Kobe Bryant to boost Lakers team?

Kobe Bryant

They’ve put him in position to win five championships. In return he has played through every circumstance short of being strapped to a hospital gurney, and has scored more points than all but three players in the history of the league. So far it appears the Lakers are operating under the premise that they’re beholden to Bryant, the guy they’ve been tied to since 1996. It’s not the way things usually work in Los Angeles, where spouses and leased cars are often returned at a similar rate. The Lakers used their one-time amnesty provision on Metta World Peace ‘s $7.7 million salary, even though taking Bryant’s $30 million off the books would have had a more dramatic financial impact and still provided an opportunity for him to return in 2014-15.
